the toolbar

The toolbar is the element containing the most frequently used commands and makes label editing easier and faster.

The toolbar can be positioned in several different ways. It contains the following elements that are enabled depending on the current context:

  • Label quantity: the top control enables you to easily define the quantity of labels to be printed. By clicking the buttons, you can modify the number of labels found on the group. The label quantity can also be modified by manually entering the number of required labels.
When the label quantity is modified through this control, Labeljoy moves the preview to the last page on which the group appears (last page of the job in case only one group is present).

    Note:
When the group is linked to a data source, label quantity modification is not allowed.
When the job is made up of more than one group, the control is linked to the first group rendered on the page.

  • Mouse mode: (default mode) the mouse works normally and can be used to resize, rotate and move elements.
  • Insert barcode: sets Labeljoy in barcode insert mode. When this working mode is active, the mouse cursor becomes cross-like and you can draw a new barcode element by clicking a label, dragging the selection and defining the area that will be covered by the newly inserted barcode element.
  • Insert text: as above but for text elements.
  • Insert graphic: as above but for graphic elements.
  • Insert page element: as above but for page elements.
  • Define print start position: sets Labeljoy in print start working mode. When in this mode you can use the mouse to define the first label position on the first page where printing starts.
  • Layout settings: opens the layout settings dialog box.
  • Group settings: opens the group settings dialog box for the selected group.
  • Link data source*: runs the link data source wizard.
  • Element settings: opens the element settings dialog box. The dialog box will be opened for the last selected element.
  • Cut: removes the selected elements and copies them to Labeljoy's clipboard.
  • Copy: copies the selected elements to Labeljoy's clipboard.
  • Paste: pastes the elements in the clipboard creating a new copy. This command can also be used to move elements between groups. See Copying and pasting elements for more details.
  • Delete: removes the selected elements without copying them to the clipboard.
  • Bring to front: brings the selected element(s) in front of all others.
  • Send to back: sends the selected element(s) behind all others.
  • Align: this item (active only if more than one item is selected) shows a popup menu that enables you to align the selected elements in several ways.
  • Same size: this item is also enabled when more than one item is selected. It enables you to copy the size of the last selected element to all other selected elements.
  • Center/rotate: This item shows 2 sub menu groups: the upper group enables you to center the selected element(s) in relation to the containing label, while the lower group enables you to apply element rotation.
  • Move to: this item displays a popup menu that enables you to change the size and the position of the selected element(s).
  • Toolbar position: this item shows a popup menu that enables you to change the positioning of the toolbar on the screen.
