code 128

Code 128 is a very high-density barcode symbology. It is used for alphanumeric or numeric-only barcodes. It can encode all 128 characters of ASCII.*

Code 128 is used as base symbology to generate EAN-128 and GS1-128 barcode symbols.

Labeljoy requires you to enter an alphanumeric text up to 48 characters long to generate the barcode. Enter the text in the text box.
The human readable text can be shown below the symbol, above it or hidden according to the setting specified in the Text combo box.

Optionally you can select the encoding mode from the Encoding combo box.
If you select an encoding mode other then Auto, the text entered will be encoded based on the ASCII value of each character, rather than its literal value.
So for example, encoding the letter A with the 128C encoding mode will generate a symbol that encodes 33, as that is the corresponding value in the 128C encoding mode table of ASCII character 65 (letter A).

Text concatenation:
When an Code 128 barcode element is generated by concatenating fields or counters, the following rule applies:
- Text length must not exceed 48 characters.
When a value not complying with the above rule is found, the barcode is not displayed.

Also, all ASCII characters above 127 will be removed.
