Code 32 is primarly used for pharmaceutical products distributed in Italy. It encodes 8 digits which get prefixed by the character A and features an added mod-10 checksum for a total of 10 alphanumeric characters. The symbol is encoded with the Code 39 symbology.

Text concatenation:
When a code 32 barcode element is generated by concatenating fields or counters, the following rule applies:
- The text to be encoded can only contain numeric digits (0 through 9).
When a value not complying with the above rule is found, the barcode is not displayed.
