Installing. Download LabeljoyXSetup.exe from labeljoy.com and run it. Windows asks whether to allow it to make changes - setup needs an administrator account - then follow its steps. If your computer is missing one of the runtimes Labeljoy needs, setup downloads and installs it too, so stay connected to the internet (see System requirements). When it's done, Labeljoy starts.
| What setup puts on your computer | |
| Labeljoy | For every user of the computer, with a Labeljoy shortcut on the desktop and in the Start menu. |
| Labeljoy files | Double-click a .ljx file to open it in Labeljoy, or right-click it for Print with Labeljoy. |
| File Explorer | A picture of each label file as its icon, and in the preview pane. |
| Command line | Type LabeljoyX in a command prompt to print or export without opening the window - see Command line. |
The first time it starts, Labeljoy speaks the language setup ran in - change it any time in Settings - and opens on the home screen. It's a demo until you activate it: see Demo, activation and Care+.
Updating. Labeljoy tells you when there's a new version and installs it for you - see Checking for updates. To install a new version yourself, run its setup over the one you have: your documents and settings stay as they are.
Uninstalling. If you're moving Labeljoy to another computer, deactivate it first, in Settings > Activation: uninstalling doesn't free your activation code. Then open the Windows Settings, go to Apps > Installed apps (Apps & features on Windows 10), find Labeljoy and choose Uninstall.
Uninstalling removes the program, its shortcuts and its place in File Explorer. Your documents stay where they are, and so do your settings and the activation of this computer, so a new install picks up where you left off.
