LabeljoyNew version
Han Xin Code is China's national 2D barcode, with a square pattern in each corner. It's made to hold Chinese text compactly, and covers the whole of the Chinese standard GB 18030.

| What it holds | |
| Characters | Chinese, letters, digits and symbols, accented letters and most other alphabets - everything in GB 18030. Not emoji. |
| Length | Up to 7,827 digits or 4,349 letters, with Error correction L1. |
| Error correction | Automatic error correction, or L1 to L4: about 8%, 15%, 23% or 30% of the symbol can be lost and it still reads. |
| Readable text | None. |
| Settings | |
| Size | Automatic size picks the smallest symbol the value fits, from 023x023 to 189x189 modules. When the value doesn't fit the size you chose, Labeljoy uses a bigger one. |
| Error correction | Automatic error correction starts at L1 and goes as high as the size allows. With a fixed Size it's greyed out and set to Automatic error correction. |
| Character Set | Default character set is GB 18030, as the standard has it. UTF-8 holds any character, but only a scanner set up for it reads it right; ASCII and ISO 8859-1 (Latin-1) hold no Chinese. |
Characters you can't type. A tilde followed by three digits is the character with
that code - ~013 is a carriage return - and ~~ is a tilde.
The rest of the settings - quiet zone, color - are in the Barcode section.
| What goes wrong | |
| Input data too long for selected error correction. | The value doesn't fit even the largest Han Xin Code with that Error correction: choose a lower one, or Automatic error correction. |
| Some characters don't fit in this character set: choose UTF-8 in Character Set. | The value has a character the Character Set can't hold - with Default character set, an emoji. |
