LabeljoyNew version
Some databases are a single file you can pick like any other. In the Data connection wizard, choose the tile for yours, then the file with the folder button next to File name.
| Access | |
| Files | .mdb and .accdb. |
| Password | For a database with a password. It's saved with the document, encrypted. |
| Source | Its tables, and its saved select queries under Views. Or pick SQL query and write your own, the way Access writes them. |
| What you need | Labeljoy reads Access files through the Microsoft Access database driver. If the wizard says Data source name not found and no default driver specified, install the 64-bit Microsoft Access Database Engine from Microsoft's website. |
| SQLite | |
| Files | .sqlite, .sqlite3, .db and .db3. |
| Source | Its tables and views, or an SQL query in SQLite's own SQL. |
| Good to know | Labeljoy only reads the file, and never changes it. Encrypted SQLite databases can't be opened. |
| FoxPro, dBase, Clipper | |
| Files | .dbf. Each file is one table, so the wizard goes straight from the file to the options: Step 2 of 4. |
| Good to know | Deleted records are left out. Long texts live in a memo file next to the table (.fpt or .dbt): if it's missing, those fields come through empty. A column of a kind Labeljoy can't read is left out. |
The records are copied into your document, so it opens and prints even when the database file isn't there. Labeljoy goes back to the file when you update the data.
