Document tabs

LabeljoyNew version

Every open document has a tab in the strip under the toolbar. Click a tab to work on that document. The house at the left end takes you to the home screen, without closing anything.

The home button and two document tabs: Sample
labels, with its save icon showing unsaved changes, and New document, which is active.

A tab shows the document's file name. A document you haven't saved yet is called New document.

On a tab
SaveShows up when the document has unsaved changes. Click it to save that document without switching to it. If it's never been saved, Labeljoy asks where to save it.
CloseCloses the document. You'll see it on the active tab, and on any other tab while the mouse is over it.

Closing a document with unsaved changes. Labeljoy asks first: Save and close, Close without saving, or Cancel to keep it open. When the last document closes, the home screen appears.

Right-click a tab
SaveSaves the document.
Save allSaves every open document that has unsaved changes.
CloseCloses the document.
Close other documentsCloses all the others.
Close documents to the leftCloses the tabs before this one.
Close documents to the rightCloses the tabs after this one.

When you close several documents at once, each one with unsaved changes asks first. Answer Cancel to any of them and none is closed.

To reorder the tabs, drag one to its new place. Got more tabs than fit? Arrows appear at the ends of the strip, and the mouse wheel scrolls it. The ⋮ button at the right end lists every open document: click one to switch to it.
