Copying, pasting and deleting

LabeljoyNew version

You can copy and paste the selected elements, a whole label set, or just a part of an element's settings. Use the toolbar's Copy and Paste, the right-click menu, or the keys.

Keys
Ctrl+C, Ctrl+InsertCopy the selection.
Ctrl+V, Shift+InsertPaste.
Ctrl+XCut: copy, then delete.
DeleteDelete the selection.

The keys work on the work area when it has the focus. In a box of the tools panel they work on the text you're typing.

Where a paste goes
ElementsOnto the label set you right-clicked, or the one you're working on, or the only one. With several label sets and nothing selected, nothing is pasted. The copies land a little to the right and down from the originals.
Page elementsOnto the page, as page elements.
A label setAs a new label set, after the others.

Right-clicking the page, away from the labels, offers Paste label set or Paste page elements, depending on what you copied. The right-click menu's Copy, Cut and Delete work on the element you right-clicked only, even when others are selected too.

Deleting. Labeljoy asks before it deletes: Delete selected element?, or Delete selected label set?. Tick Hide this message to stop it asking; Restore hidden messages, in Settings, brings the question back. With nothing selected in a document that has one label set, it's that label set that's deleted. Whatever you delete, Undo brings it back.

Copying part of an element. Every section of the element panel has a ⋮ menu that copies that section, or part of it - a text's settings, a barcode's pen, a picture's effects, an element's position - to paste into another element. Only one thing is on the clipboard at a time, and the menu's Paste says what it is.

You can copy elements from one document and paste them into another. Copying keeps an element on the label or on the page: a label element can't be pasted as a page element, or the other way round.
