Pharmaceutical barcodes are the ones on medicine packs. Two of them carry the number each medicine is given in its country, so a pharmacy can sell and track it; the third checks, on the production line, that every pack, leaflet and label is the right one.
| The pharmaceutical symbologies | |
| Code 32 | Italy: the AIC number of a medicine, printed with an A in front. |
| Pharmacode | Packaging control on the production line: a number, in one row of bars or two. |
| Pharmazentral Nummer | Germany: the PZN of a medicine. |
All three take digits only, and Labeljoy works out the check digit where there is one. Medicines sold in shops also carry an EAN or a Data Matrix with GS1 data, as the rules of each country ask - check them before you print.
The rest of the settings - text position, quiet zone, color - are in the Barcode section.
