LabeljoyNew version
A field, a counter or a
reference can write its number or date the way you want: with two decimals,
as a price, as a percentage, as a long date. You set it in the Format box of its settings - pick one from
the list, or type your own.
The list shows only what fits: number formats for a number, date formats for a date, yes/no words for
a yes/no field. A column of text has no format - it's written as it is. Switch a reference to one of another kind -
from a date to a page number, say - and its format is cleared.
| Numbers - 1234.56 in English (United States) |
| System format | G: 1234.56, as it is. |
| Formatted number | N: 1,234.56, with the separators and the decimals of
your Number and date format. On a counter or a page or label number, no decimals. |
| Integer number | #,##0: 1,235. |
| Decimal number | #,##0.00: 1,234.56. |
| Exponential | E: 1.234560E+003. |
| Hexadecimal, Binary | X: 4D3, and B: 10011010011. Whole numbers
only, so the value is rounded first; a negative one gets a minus sign. |
| Prices and percentages |
| System currency | C: $1,234.56, in the currency of your Number and
date format. |
| $, €, £, ¥ | A set currency, whatever the country: $ 1,234.56,
€ 1,234.56, £ 1,234.56, ¥1,235. |
| Percentages | System percentage (P), Integer percentage
(0%), Decimal percentage (0.0%). In a field, 0.25 is 25%: data holds a percentage as a
fraction. A counter counts whole percent, so at 7 it prints 7%. |
| Dates and times - 30 September 2026, 14:05:09, in English (United States) |
| System short date, long date | d: 9/30/2026, and D: Wednesday,

and the time. |
| Custom date, time, date/time | dd/MM/yyyy: 30/09/2026, H:mm:ss:
14:05:09, and the two together. The / takes your Number and date format's own separator: 30.09.2026 in
German. |
| Yes/no fields |
| Yes/No, True/False, On/Off | The two words to write, in your language. |
| Your own | Two words with a semicolon between them, yes first:
Shipped;Pending. |
| Typing your own |
| Numbers | 0 is a digit that's always written, # one that's
written only if needed; . is the decimal point, , the thousands separator, % makes it a
percentage. 0000 writes 7 as 0007. Anything in quotes is written as it is: 0 "kg". |
| Dates | d or dd the day, ddd or dddd its name;
M or MM the month, MMM or MMMM its name; yy or yyyy the year;
HH the hour (24-hour), hh with tt for AM/PM; mm minutes, ss
seconds. dd MMM yyyy writes 30 Sep 2026. |
A format Labeljoy can't make sense of doesn't stop anything: the value is written without it, and so
is the rest of the text. Number and date format, next to Format, says which country's way of
writing numbers and dates to use - the separators, the names of months and days, the currency; Default format is
Default number and date format in the Settings.
